Get started with MileLedger on the web

The MileLedger web app at mileledger.app/app lets you view synced trips and expenses, filter records, and export CSV files from any browser — no installation required.

Prerequisites

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge).
  • Optional: a Google account that has previously synced data from the MileLedger phone app, or simply use demo mode to explore.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open the web app

Navigate to mileledger.app/app in any modern web browser. The page loads a sign-in screen where you can either sign in with Google or explore the demo.

  2. 2

Try demo mode (no account needed)

If you don't yet have an account or just want to see what the web app looks like, click 'Try the demo' (or equivalent demo mode link) on the sign-in screen. This loads a pre-populated workspace with example trips and expenses so you can explore the interface freely. Demo data is not saved and resets each session.

  3. 3

    Sign in with Google

Click 'Sign in with Google' and select your Google account. This is the same account you use in the MileLedger phone app. After authentication, the web app loads your real synced drives and expenses.

  4. 4

    Browse your trips

The main dashboard shows an overview of your activity. Navigate to the Trips or Drives section to see your full list of recorded drives. You can sort and filter by date range, categorization (business/personal), or vehicle.

  5. 5

    Browse your expenses

Navigate to the Expenses section to review your logged expenses. Filters for date, category, and categorization are available. Click any expense to view its details.

  6. 6

    Export to CSV

To export your data, look for the Export button or CSV download option in the Reports or relevant list section. Select the date range and data set (drives, expenses, or both), then click Export. A CSV file downloads to your device.

Expected results

  • You can view your synced drives and expenses in the web app.
  • Filters and date ranges work correctly to narrow the displayed records.
  • A CSV file exports successfully when requested.

Important notes

  • The web app is read-only. You cannot create, edit, or delete drives or expenses from the browser — use the phone app for that.
  • The web app supports email/password and Google Sign-In. Use the same credentials as the phone app.
  • Data in the web app reflects what has been synced from the phone app. If you recorded drives recently, allow a moment for sync to complete before refreshing the web view.
  • Demo mode uses sample data only. Nothing you see in demo mode is connected to a real account.

Common problems

I signed in but the web app shows no trips or expenses.

Confirm you are signed in with the same Google account used in the phone app. Then open the phone app, sign in, and wait for the sync to complete. Refresh the web app. If you have never signed in on the phone app, no cloud data exists yet.

The CSV download does not start.

Check that your browser is not blocking pop-ups or file downloads from mileledger.app. Allow downloads in your browser settings and try again.

The web app shows a blank screen after sign-in.

Try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows). If the issue continues, clear your browser cache for mileledger.app and sign in again.
