Recurring Expenses

Templates for software, insurance, and phone bills that log expenses on schedule.

Why teams rely on recurring

Recurring rules are templates, not expenses themselves. Create a merchant, amount, category, and frequency; when you are signed in, MileLedger materializes due expenses on schedule (with freemium caps respected). Pause or resume any template without losing the history already logged.

  • Templates for regular business costs like software and insurance
  • Scheduled materialization into real ledger expenses
  • Pause, resume, or delete without wiping past entries
  • Tied to category, categorization, and optional vehicle

In detail

How recurring works in practice

Templates, not phantom charges

A recurring rule stores merchant, amount, category, categorization, frequency, and optional vehicle. It does not invent ledger rows until a due expense is materialized—so paused templates do not quietly inflate totals.

Typical uses: software subscriptions, phone plans, insurance premiums, and other predictable business costs you do not want to re-enter every month.

Scheduled into the real ledger

When you are signed in, due templates create real expenses you can edit, attach receipts to, or delete like any other entry. Freemium expense caps still apply—Premium removes the ceiling for high-volume ledgers.

If an amount changes (price increase, annual plan), update the template once; future materializations use the new figure without rewriting history.

Pause without losing the past

Pause a template when a subscription ends or you switch tools. Past expenses remain in history for reports and exports. Resume later if the cost returns.

Delete a template when you no longer need it—logged expenses stay unless you remove them separately. That separation keeps accidental template cleanup from erasing a year of evidence.
