How routes works in practice
Teach MileLedger the drives you repeat
Smart routes capture the routes you take often: home to office, warehouse to job site, any start to a fixed client address. Save start and end, purpose, and whether the drive is business or personal.
Optional match-any-start helps when you leave from rotating locations but always arrive at the same client or yard. The end point and categorization stay stable; the start can flex within your match settings.
Matches that earn trust over time
As new trips fall within your radius of a saved route, MileLedger counts matches. Rising hit counts are a confidence signal that the pattern is real—not a one-off coincidence.
Review matches before you lean on auto-apply. A wrong radius or a shared parking garage can create false positives; tightening the route beats silently mis-categorizing a week of drives.
Auto-apply when you are ready
Enable auto-apply on routes you trust so repeating trips categorize themselves with the saved purpose and business or personal tag. You can still open any drive and override when the day was different.
Smart routes reduce tap fatigue; they do not remove your responsibility for an accurate log. Spot-check weekly, especially after you change workplaces, clients, or commute patterns.
