Navigate the MileLedger dashboard

MileLedger has a Home tab dashboard on phone and a web app dashboard at mileledger.app/app. Both give you an at-a-glance view of your mileage and expenses. Here's what each area shows and how to navigate it.

The phone Home tab

The Home tab is the first tab in MileLedger's bottom navigation bar. It serves as your personal dashboard, surfacing the most relevant information at a glance.

At the top of the Home tab you'll typically find a summary for the current period — total business miles driven, estimated mileage value, and expense totals. These figures update automatically as you add drives and expenses.

Below the summary, recent drives and expenses are listed so you can quickly review your latest activity without navigating to separate tabs.

Quick-action buttons on the Home tab let you start common tasks — such as adding a drive or logging an expense — without tapping through multiple screens.

The five phone tabs

Home — Your dashboard and recent activity summary.

Drives — Your complete trip history. Filter, search, and review individual drives. Tap any drive to see its full details or edit it.

Expenses — All logged expenses. Requires Google Sign-In. Filter by category, date, or categorization.

Reports — Summarised totals, breakdowns by vehicle or category, and options to export data as CSV (free) or PDF (Premium).

More — Account settings, vehicles, preferences, subscription management, and support links.

The web app dashboard

After signing in at mileledger.app/app, you land on the web dashboard. Like the phone Home tab, it presents a summary of your synced data — total drives, distances, business vs personal splits, and recent activity.

The left-hand navigation (or top navigation depending on your screen size) links to Trips, Expenses, and Reports sections. These mirror the corresponding tabs in the phone app but in a browser-friendly layout.

The Reports section on the web app includes the CSV export functionality, letting you download your full dataset without opening the phone app.

Switching between time periods

Both the phone Home tab and the web dashboard allow you to filter the summary by time period — such as this week, this month, this year, or a custom date range. Use the period selector (usually near the top of the screen) to adjust the view.

What the dashboard does not show

The dashboard is a summary view. Individual drive routes and detailed expense breakdowns live in their respective tabs (Drives, Expenses). Navigate to those tabs for granular records.

The web dashboard is read-only. You cannot add, edit, or delete records from the web — all changes must be made in the phone app.

Important notes

  • Dashboard figures on the web app reflect your last successful sync. If you added a drive recently, open the phone app and allow sync to complete, then refresh the web page.
  • The Expenses section on both phone and web requires a Google Sign-In account.
