Setting your default vehicle

Your default vehicle is pre-selected when you log a new drive or add an expense with a vehicle-related category. You can set any vehicle as the default from its detail screen or from the vehicle list.

Steps

    Open Vehicles

    Tap More → Vehicles.

    Select the vehicle to make default

    Tap the vehicle you want to set as default.

    Toggle "Default vehicle"

    On the vehicle detail screen, enable the "Set as default vehicle" toggle. The toggle turns on and a checkmark badge appears next to the vehicle in the list.

Expected results

  • The vehicle shows a default indicator in the Vehicles list.
  • New drives detected or logged manually are pre-associated with this vehicle.
  • The vehicle appears first in pickers throughout the app.

Important notes

  • Only one vehicle can be the default at a time. Setting a new default automatically removes the default status from the previous one.
  • If no vehicle is marked as default, MileLedger selects the first vehicle in the list for auto-detected drives.
  • You can always manually change the vehicle on an individual drive or expense after it is created.
