Is my data private?
MileLedger is local-first: your drives, expenses, and settings live on your device by default and are not sent anywhere unless you sign in. When signed in, data syncs to Firebase (your own Firebase-backed account). MileLedger does not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than providing the service.
No sign-in, no cloud
If you use MileLedger without signing in, your data never leaves your device. No server receives your location data, drives, or expenses.
When signed in
Signing in enables sync to Firebase. Your data is stored in a Firebase project associated with your Google account. It is not shared with third parties.
Receipt images go to Firebase Storage, which is also associated with your account.
Location data
MileLedger uses GPS only during active drive tracking to record start/end points and the route of a drive. It does not continuously monitor your location in the background beyond what is needed to detect drive start and stop events.
