Security and sign-in

MileLedger uses Google Sign-In as its only authentication method. There are no separate MileLedger passwords. Account security is managed entirely by Google — enabling 2-Step Verification on your Google account is the primary way to protect your MileLedger data.

How sign-in works

Tap More → Account → Sign In and choose your Google account. MileLedger receives a secure token from Google — it never sees your Google password.

Sign-in is required to sync data across devices and to access cloud backup. The app works without sign-in but data stays local-only.

Securing your account

Because MileLedger delegates authentication to Google, securing your Google account secures your MileLedger data. Enable Google's 2-Step Verification at myaccount.google.com → Security.

MileLedger does not offer its own two-factor authentication — this is handled by Google.

Signing out

Tap More → Account → Sign Out. Signing out disconnects your Google account from the app. Your local data remains on the device — it is not deleted.

To remove your data from the device after signing out, use the Wipe All Local Data option (see "Deleting your account and data").

Important notes

  • MileLedger has no access to your Google password. If your Google account is compromised, change your Google password and revoke app access at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps.
  • MileLedger supports Google Sign-In and email/password. Apple Sign-In and other providers are not available. Use the same method on phone and the web portal so your ledger stays under one Firebase account.
