Password or authentication problems
MileLedger does not have a password system. There is no MileLedger password to create, reset, or enter. Authentication is handled entirely by Google — if you are having trouble getting in, the issue relates to your Google account, not a MileLedger password.
Why there is no MileLedger password
MileLedger uses Google Sign-In as its sole authentication method. When you tap 'Continue with Google', Google handles all credential verification — including passwords and two-factor authentication — on its own screens. MileLedger never sees or stores your Google password.
This means there is no separate MileLedger password to create, no 'Forgot password' flow within MileLedger, and no option to set a PIN or passcode specific to MileLedger.
If you cannot access your Google account
If you have forgotten your Google password or are locked out of your Google account, you need to recover access through Google — not through MileLedger. Visit accounts.google.com/signin/recovery and follow Google's account recovery process.
Once you have regained access to your Google account, you can sign in to MileLedger normally.
If Google is asking for a password you do not recognise
Google may ask for your Google account password (the password for your Gmail or Google Workspace account) during the sign-in flow. This is normal — it is Google verifying your identity, not a MileLedger password. Enter your Google account password here.
If you use Google's passwordless sign-in (passkeys or phone prompts), follow the Google prompt on your trusted device instead of entering a password.
Two-factor authentication prompts
If your Google account has two-factor authentication enabled, Google may send a verification code to your phone or ask you to confirm sign-in on a trusted device. This is expected and is part of Google's security, not a MileLedger requirement. Complete the Google verification step and MileLedger will sign you in automatically.
Important notes
- MileLedger does not store, manage, or have access to your Google password. All credential handling is done by Google.
- There is no way to add a separate MileLedger password, PIN, or passcode. If you want to restrict access to MileLedger on your phone, use iOS Screen Time or Face ID/Touch ID app lock.
Common problems
I am asked for a password when I tap 'Continue with Google'.
The password prompt is from Google, not MileLedger. Enter your Google account (Gmail or Google Workspace) password. If you have forgotten it, visit accounts.google.com/signin/recovery to reset it.
I want to change my MileLedger password.
There is no MileLedger password to change. If you want to change your Google account password (which you use to sign in to MileLedger), do so at myaccount.google.com → Security → Password.
I want to sign in without Google.
MileLedger only supports Google Sign-In. There is no alternative authentication method. You can use MileLedger for drive tracking without signing in at all — sign-in is required only for expense logging, cloud sync, and web access.
