Notification preferences
MileLedger sends four types of local notifications. You can enable or disable each type individually in Settings. All notifications are local (on-device) — MileLedger does not send push notifications from a server.
Categorize reminder
Sends a daily reminder at a configurable hour (default: 6 PM) if you have uncategorized drives. This helps you keep your records up to date.
Toggle: Settings → Notifications → Categorize Reminder. You can also adjust the reminder hour.
Drive completed
Sends a notification when a drive finishes while the app is in the background, confirming the drive was recorded. Useful if you want to verify a drive was captured without opening the app.
Toggle: Settings → Notifications → Drive Completed.
Tracking closed
Warns you when the app is closed or backgrounded while automatic tracking is enabled. This alerts you that your next drive may not be recorded unless the app is running.
Toggle: Settings → Notifications → Tracking Closed Warning.
Budget alerts
Sends a local notification when you approach or exceed an expense budget you have configured. Turn this off if you find budget alerts disruptive.
Toggle: Settings → Notifications → Budget Alerts.
iOS notification permission
For any of these notifications to appear, iOS must have notification permission granted for MileLedger. If notifications are not arriving, open iOS Settings → MileLedger → Notifications and ensure Allow Notifications is on.
Important notes
- MileLedger notifications are all local and on-device. No notification data is sent to MileLedger's servers.
- Disabling a notification type in MileLedger only suppresses that type — it does not affect iOS system notification settings.
