Recurring expenses
Recurring expenses allow you to set up expenses that repeat on a schedule — weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually — so you do not have to log them manually each time.
Steps
- 1
Open the expense editor
Create a new expense or edit an existing one that you want to make recurring.
- 2
Enable recurrence
Scroll to the "Recurrence" section and toggle it on.
- 3
Choose a frequency
Select how often this expense should repeat: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually.
- 4
Set the start date and end (optional)
Confirm the first occurrence date. Optionally set an end date or a maximum number of occurrences if the expense has a known end.
- 5
Save
Save the expense. MileLedger will automatically create new expense entries according to the schedule.
Editing a recurring series
When you edit a recurring expense, you can choose to update only the current occurrence or all future occurrences in the series.
Deleting a single occurrence removes only that entry; deleting the series removes all future occurrences.
Common use cases
Monthly software subscriptions.
Annual insurance premiums.
Weekly parking or commuting costs.
Quarterly professional membership dues.
Important notes
- Recurring expenses count toward the Free plan's 10-expense limit each time a new occurrence is created. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited recurring entries.
